    Description

    A scarce and unusual presentation tipstaff, presented to Robert White Esq. The silver gilt un-hallmarked staff head embossed with the coat of arms of the City of London and the Lord Mayor & Sheriffs for the City of London in 1865-1866. The center section cast with the coat of arms of the City with the 2 Griffins, the center marked Guildhall 1865, the top coat of arms are of the Lord Mayor Sir Bejamin Samuel Phillips, the bottom arms are, on the left the arms are of Sills John Gibbons and on the right the arms of James Figgins, the collar is engraved "LORD MAYOR & SHERIFFS COMMITTEE. ROBERT WHITE Esq. 1865". Overall 5 inch by 2¼, on a 2½ inch black dowel.
